Incoming 8th Graders
1) "Understanding Comics"
by Scott McCloud. Read Chapters 1 – 4.
This can be purchased online or in most bookstores OR borrowed from the
library. You will be tested on the terms
when we return to school in September, so READ IT CAREFULLY. Our first project is a Graphic Novel. (Worth 20 pts.)
2) Look up the following words and
write up the definitions, including the
parts of speech (Example: canopic jar (noun)
- An ancient Egyptian Vase, urn, or jar used as a container for an
embalmed human organ.
