8th Grade Wavy Weavers
BABY PHOTOS - EMAIL THEM!Completed work is a beautiful thing, and I accept nothing less. Friday was the deadline for weavings. Tuesday, March 1st is the vocabulary quiz that everyone will do really well on, because the vocabulary was given in class and right here:
- Loom - a frame ( or machine) upon which weaving is done.
- Warp - vertical threads which form the base of a weaving. To "warp" means to string thread onto a loom. Vertical - upright; straight up and down.
- Weft - the horizontal threads which are woven across the warp. Branches or grasses woven horizontally are also weft. Horizontal - Flat and parallel to the ground (the horizon).
- Weaving - To make cloth on a loom by passing weft threads over and under warp threads
- Pattern- something that repeats.
