6th Grade Lichtenstein Artists

Last Quarter, Hampton artists created Pop Art self-portrait paintings.  They studied the artwork of Roy Lichtenstein and the results were wonderful.  Now that Xavier has art, we decided to UP the CRITERIA a bit more and students are being asked to push themselves beyond their comfort zones!

Not only are scholars creating self portraits, but many have chosen to create a second, action-inspired set of comic panels that will use onomatopoeia, which is a word that imitates the natural sounds of things.  It creates a sound effect that mimics the thing described, making the description more expressive and interesting.

We continue with this task after the long break!  Come prepared with the supplies listed at the top of this post!
